It’s now my tenth week on my perfect little abandon island! You might be wondering how I got here and I am here to tell you. It all started when I applied to be in the squid game season 3 hosted by none other than my king LeBron James! Two months later I was walking to the supermarket to get some groceries when was abducted by a strange masked man in a sleek, silver Mercedes Sprinter Van. I tried to yell for help but I received a stinging pain in my left arm and everything went dark. When I woke up I was greeted by some tropical birds humming a beat. I frantically stood up but fell right back down onto the blazing hot sand. I was weak. Whatever they put in that shot really messed up my body because I could hardly move. After that I realized that I was in the Squid Game! But something strange was happening there was a camera lying next to me I picked it up and was teleported to a room with other cameraman. That’s when I realized that I wasn’t a contestant rather a cameraman for the show. The room was filled with luxurious couches black walls and pictures of LeBron James. I realized the games were about to start so I grabbed my camera and started feeling. And that’s what I did for the next 10 weeks. I would wake up in a safe bunker nestled away from the games brush my teeth and get to work! The island is very large filled with palm trees, and toucans. Sand covered every inch of the island along with hermit crabs crawling around seeking food. The sky was always a baby blue with clouds floating about the air. I am Ethan thank you for listening to my story.
“Rad Reading -January”!
The book I read this month was called Diary of A Wimpy Kid The Last Straw By Jeff Kinney. In this book, Greg the Protagonist is not meeting his father’s athletic standards. So to snap Greg back into shape his dad Frank agrees to send him to military school. Greg dreading this outcome must convince his father that he is athletic and not send him to military school. What will happen in this laugh-out-loud dramatic book, find out by reading it yourself.
The thing I loved about this book was its humor. I almost died trying to read because I was laughing so much. Whenever I read this book I instantly feel happy and like the world isn’t so mean.
My favorite character in this book is Greg because of how funny he is. For example, he pulls countless pranks like putting Whoopie cushions under teachers’ seats or filling the teacher’s lounge with 50 gallons of milk. Greg is always making me laugh. One of Greg’s character traits is dumb. A quote from the book that proves this is on (pg.68) when his Math teacher asks him “What’s 20×12” Greg responds by saying “Purple.” This proves Greg is dumb because he doesn’t know the answer to a question that is a 3rd-grade standard and he’s in 7th grade.
My favorite quote from this book is when Frank (Greg’s dad) yells “Don’t make me look bad.” To Greg when he’s playing goalie. This is my favorite quote because in the car ride over to the soccer field Frank was just telling Greg to stay calm and he will be happy with him no matter what the score is. And him saying those words makes it a little ironic
Miss Moffat Rating
My rating for Miss Moffat in the first semester of my 7th grade year is 7.8/10. The contributing factors for this high rating are Fun, Teaching, and Seating locations for overall fun I have had in this class I will give it a 8.7/10. The reason for this rating is that Miss Moffat is keeping a good attitude and saying Scottish jokes. (Some good some bad) overall Miss Moffat funnels good vibes into this class and keeps everyone jolly. Next category is teaching which I will give a 7.1/10. Overall Miss Moffat is a terrific teacher that helps people out when they are stuck and is very good at explaining things. The two downsides in the teaching department are her tech skills (which aren’t bad but not amazing) and the fact that we are one of the only classes that have to do rad reading which is a pain in the buttox. And the last factor to my rating is seating arrangements. This is a 10/10 for everyone in the class except for me, which is my fault but still annoying. This rating of a 6/10 drags the overall rating down.
Dumbledore Quote
As being a reader of the entire Harry Potter book series Dumbledore wasn’t one of my favorite characters but this quote stood out to me. The quote is “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light.” The meaning behind this quote to me is that even in dark times happiness can be found you just have to be the one to stop feeling sorry for yourself get out in the world and find that light switch yourself. Nobody can do it for you. This relates to me because when I was in preschool I never talked to anyone but my parents and my brother. (Yes this is true Miss Moffat I used to be quiet) But then I realized I’m never going to make new friends if I never put myself out there. So from that point on out I decided that I was going to try and make new friends and stop feeling sorry for myself. And that’s how I’m bringing light into my word.
“Rad Reading – December”
This month I read Diary of a Wimpy Kid Hot Mess By Jeff Kinney. In this Book Greg Heffely, the Main character finds himself on a family vacation with all of his mom’s sisters at Ruttyneck Island. Their childhood vacation home. During their stay, the Heffelys are accommodated with the smallest beds in the entire vacation home. And you can’t help but wonder if Greg and his family survive this wretched vacation. What will Greg experience through this laugh-out-loud, dramatic book. What I loved about the book was its humor. It had me in a vicious laughing cycle that I couldn’t stop even if I tried. This book was one of the funniest books I have ever read and if you’re looking for a good laugh I recommend you to check this book out! My favorite character is Greg Heffley. One of his many character traits is funny. A quote to prove this is when his new friend Craig says “Greg you are the goofiest, most hilarious kid I have ever seen.” This shows Greg is funny because he got someone to believe he is the most hilarious person in the world that he’s only known for a week. My favorite quote from the book is when Manny Greg’s little brother says “Mommy the toilets laughing!” This is my favorite quote because it makes me laugh more and more every time I read it. Also, that was Manny’s first sentence just making it more hilarious
LeBron the legend
My hero that I look up to is LeBron James. LeBron James is a NBA basketball player who currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. Throughout his storied career he has broken the points barrier by becoming the first ever person on the face of earth to score 40,000 points in his career. He has also one 4 championships along the way with the Lakers in 2020 the Heat in 2012 and 2013 and finally with his hometown Cleveland Cavs in 2016.One reason he is my hero is because he carries my favorite team the Lakers. This is important because if LeBron wasn’t carrying the Lakers than they would be terrible and just unwatchable, but since he is in L.A I can watch my favorite team with a smile on my face👍. Another reason LeBron James is my hero is because he is a silly goose. Whenever I watch LeBron in an NBA game he’s always doing something goofy like hitting bottle flips on the sideline and doing dances with his teammates LeBron 100% of the time is making me and millions of other people smile! The last reason LeBron is my hero is because he starred in the movie Space Jam a New Legacy. This shows that he is my hero because when this movie came out I REALLY wanted to watch it and when I did I felt like I was in a whole new world. It was funny dramatic and one of the best movies I had ever watched. IT showed me that LeBron could do more than just play ball.
The Jeff
I would trade places with Jeff Bezos for so many reasons here are my top three. The first reason I would switch places with Jeff Bezos is so I can transfer my parents 100 million dollars. I would do this so my generations of the merchant family will never have to worry about money or even think of it for as long as our family tree stays alive. Also so Jeff doesn’t find out I would tell everyone that works for him or he’s ever known on his Jumbotron (Yes he has a Jumbotron) to never speak of this event ever for as long as they play the game of life. The second reason I would switch places with Jeff Besoz is so I can have the experience of my life. I would order the entire menu from Caines, In-N-Out, and Hell’s Kitchen which I would gobble up and I wouldn’t have to worry about getting obese because this isn’t my body. Then I would go to the laker game sit court side and get to meet all the players including Lebron, Anthony Davis, and Bronny James. To top it all of I would buy part of the LA rams ownership stake and give it to my family so we can be owners of the Rams and help the team draft there players. The last reason I would trade places with Jeff Bezos is so I can use his vast fortune to attempt to create a Time Machine. I would do this because I have always dreamt of the idea to have a Time Machine and I could use it to solve every problem on earth. Also I could use it to have adventures like Traveling back to Ancient Rome to fight in wars or Travel into the distant future and learn what humanity has become in that time span. The possibilities are endless
Smart Start
This year I am going to focus on the word smart. There are plenty of reasons I am going to focus on the word smart but I will only say two. The first reason I am going to focus on the word smart is use my smarts in Ms Moffat’s class. I need to use my smarts in Ms Moffat’s class because sometimes I don’t think and just randomly shout out questions when Ms Moffat is talking and that interrupts the class and Ms Moffat. Also I need to use my smarts in Ms Moffat’s class because she probably just wants to finish up her teaching, retire and move to Peru so when I talk a lot it gets her extra bent out of shape. Another reason I picked smart as my word was because I need to be smart in football. I need to be smart in football because this year my team is running different formations on offense and defense and I need to adapt to those new formations by being smart and listening when we go to the film room to study our formations
Principal Pulazoo
I have been told I am principal for the day! With my first order of business I would give Mrs Sneed a raise, I would do this because she was a great teacher and dealt with my antics. She also helped me learn the 6th grade material and more. The second thing I would do as principal would be to fire Mrs Tanikawa so I can be principal forever and make Hewes a better place.(Nothing personal Mrs Tanikawa.) The third thing I would do would be to change the school lunch food schedule to this: Monday Little Ceasers pizza (two slices and one Crazy bread). Tuesday In-N-Out double double, chocolate shake, and animal style fries. Wednesday: Chipotle carne asada bowl and medium Dr Pepper. Thursday: Subway club sandwich Footlong with Mountain Dew. Friday Caines The box combo with lemonade. The fourth thing I would do would be to make the school year 60 days shorter and make Monday a weekend day. I would do these things because students are under a lot of stress and an extra day off would immensely help. Also if the school year is shorter than summer would be longer and kids and adults will have more time to build memories and have the time of their lives. The fifth and last thing I would do as principal would be to ban homework. I would do this because studies have shown that if you get everything done in class and you don’t have to worry about doing it at home you of a lot less stress and you do better on tests which is the biggest part of your grade
“ Rad Reading-November”! (The real one)
“Rad Reading – November”!
This month I read Dog Man Tale of Two Kitties by Dav Pilkey. The book starts by the antagonist Petey the cat escaping jail and trying to make a clone of himself using a clone machine he got from Animalazon. But instead of a fully grown clone of himself (which he was promised) a small child replica of him arises from the machine. So Petey tries to make the best of this by teaching Lil Petey (his clone) to be a criminal. But Lil Petey rebels and wants to be good so he runs away from Petey. What I loved about this book is the humor. It always keeps me dying of laughter and is a good read any day of the week! My favorite character from this book was Dog Man because he is heroic and saves people from near death while being absolutely hilarious! One of Dog Man’s character traits is that he is brave. Since Dog Man doesn’t talk he wrote down on a piece of napkin paper from Donut Kong, that he was going to stop Petey alone. He left this note at the police station for Chief and the rest of the cops to find. This proves that he is brave because Petey is the most dangerous criminal in the world and has machines that can wreck universes, but Dog Man didn’t care and went to face him alone. With this evidence we can clearly see Dog Man is brave and courageous. My favorite quote from this book is when Chief says “Sometimes life’s unfair but you gotta just get on your feet and push through”. This is my favorite quote because it shows that Chief is very wise and he is a motivational person. This book brought me great laughs, suspense and is good for readers who are into action packed comedies.
